Book Review-For the Love of Eryk by Rod McCall

Imagine fighting to clear your name of false allegations made against you, fighting for both you and your child's sanity, fighting for your child's safety, when after losing everything, someone finally hears you and you have been blessed with victory. There is nothing or no one keeping you apart anymore. In one instant you have been freed from the prison your ex placed you in; your child has been freed from the abusive hell your ex placed them in. Soon you will have your child in your arms safe and sound, ready for this new chapter that includes enjoying childhood. Unfortunately that time with your child that you've continuously ran through your head will only remain to be a dream. The little bit of time you did have with your child will be treasured memories. Your child will not age.
The victory happened but was short lived because when you went to pick up your child, you found your ex murdered him to keep him from you. That is what happened to Rod McCall.
Parental alienation is a real thing and it's a real danger. The goal of an alienator is to ensure that the child "pleads" loyalty only to them, hating the fit parent as a result. It is about control, dominance, and coming out on top. It has nothing to do with the best interest of the child/children. Parental alienation is abuse. It has a lasting effect on one's mentality and emotional stability/instability.
Rod tells his story which is heart wrenching from start to finish. The reader can truly get a first hand account of how dangerous parental alienation is and what it is. He does an excellent job suggesting sources for more information on parental alienation as well as honoring his son's memory.
This is a must read for education about parental alienation but also to understand what this fight is all about and so this serves as a wake up call to save our children so no other child, parent, and family have to go through this.
